Himalayan salt is a rock salt that comes from the Punjab region of Pakistan. Mined in the foothills of the Himalayas, Himalayan salt contains dozens of trace minerals that give it its rosy hue.
It is one of the purest salts available. The Khewra Salt Mine is one of the oldest and largest salt mines in the world. The pink Himalayan salt harvested from this mine is believed to have been formed millions of years ago from the evaporation of ancient bodies of water.
